Ball Fields: Introduction to the CTED Rezone Letter
The letter you are reading comes from Leonard Bauer of the State of Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development and Leonard is a good guy who can answer questions you might have. He actually answers in non-bureaucratic language.
There are two possible ways to do the process and the county should get started now with one or the other. To me the important sentences are the ones that sum up paragraphs in a letter. The last sentence of the first paragraph and the last sentence of the fourth paragraph tell me it’s been done and it can be done here and now. The second process, while not recommended, seems to fit this ballfields case nicely. The county has been claiming it’s too much money and too much time to do it here. That’s just bureaucratic hand wringing. Council-member Jeff Sax said at a Friday meeting in June with the parents that if it were legal to do it, he would introduce the ordinance and it could be done in 90 days. This letter shows it is legal. |
